Stage 1 - Initiation:

  • Reviewed and Acknowledged Lessons Learned from Past Projects.
  • Complete a Business Case.
  • Give justification for the project.
  • Compare Pros and Cons.
  • Document Key risks.
  • Define and document Roles and Responsibilities.
  • Appoint a Project Manager.
  • Business Case Deregistration.

Stage 2 -  Planning:

  • Projects Agreed and Appropriately Prioritised.
  • Creation of PIDs (Project Initiation Documents).
  • Project Plan created using a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).
  • Project Planned Detailing Phases, Tasks, Duration, Start and Finish Date, Constraints, Resources, Costs and Risk.
  • Resources Added to the Project.
  • Create a Gantt Chart Showing project tasks, Milestones and Critical Path.
  • Risk Register Created.
  • Creation of Quality Register.
  • Communications Process Created.
  • Setting Baselines (Approval Points).
  • PID Sign Off.

Stage 3 – Execution/Control:

  • Risk Assessment and Analysis.
  • Changes are Checked and Documented if Necessary.

  • Stage Plans Completed.
  • Determine If Business Case is still valid or project will Provide Business Benefits.

Stage 4 – Project Completion:
